A gold-mounted desk seal with green alabaster handle, the bloodstone matrix carved with countess' coronet and cypher, with plain strap to the handle together with a gold-mounted mother-of-pearl-handled desk seal, circa 1830, the citrine matrix carved with inscription, chased mounts with applied hardstones, the vari-coloured gold coronet top set with turquoise

3? in. (10 cm.) high and 2 in. (7.6 cm.) high respectively

Specialist note

The initials on the first seal are for Mary Cornelia, Countess Vane, later Marchioness of Londonderry (d.1906), wife of George, 2nd Earl Vane, later 5th Marquess of Londonderry (1821-1984).
