The first, four-case, inlaid in silver and silver gilt inset in a black lacquer and sparse nashiji ground, carved and chased with shells and seaweed, the top and bottom cases later decorated in green hiramaki-e with swirling karakusa, the himotoshi inlaid in silver chased with flowers, dense nashiji interiors, fundame rims; the second, a rounded two-case inro, decorated in gold and red hiramaki-e and inlaid in mother-of-pearl on a fundame ground, with kiri, hagi and cherry blossoms, the rim lacquered to imitate pewter; the third, four-case, decorated in gold takamaki-e and kirikane on a brown lacquered ground with yatsude [aralia] and peonies, dense nashiji ground, fundame rims, a manju; the fourth, four-case, decorated in gold takamaki-e on a black lacquered ground with a profusion of chrysanthemums, fundame rims; the fifth, four-case, decorated in gold takamaki-e and inlaid in mother-of-pearl on a kinji ground, with a hawk perched on a pine tree, dense nashiji interior, fundame rims, coral ojime
