Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1953 and its subsequent sale on June 2nd of the same year.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.

The reference 2532 (and the reference 2533, see lot 363 in this sale) replaced the better known reference 565 when it was launched in 1952. With a subsidiary seconds caliber 12-400, approximately 200 pieces were made in total during this references production run that ended in 1956. With luminescent dauphine hands and distinctive daggered hour markers, this example is a fine example of this reference in unrestored condition.

Reference 2532 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by M. Huber & A. Banbery, Second Edition, page 193.
