The oviform jar and cylindrical cover decorated with blue auspicious characters reserved on a pale celadon ground, with a moulded neck and stylised palmette-leaf cast base, the cover with restoration
11¾ in. (30 cm.) high

The vase possibly supplied by Robert Fogg and mounted by Vulliamy & Son, London circa 1806, for Edward Lascelles, 1st Earl of Harewood (1740-1820), or for his eldest son Edward 'Beau' Lascelles (1764-1814) and by descent at Harewood House, Yorkshire.
