1913 pattern, with a miniature St George cross at the top of the handle, with its original navy suspension belt

Prince Dimitri Nicolaevich Galitzine (1882-1928)
Acquired by the present owner from the sister-in-law of the above, Princess Marina Petrovna Galitzine (1892-1981), née Princess Marina of Russia.

Specialist note

Prince Dimitri fought at Tsushima in 1905 where his boat was destroyed. He was subsequently taken as a prisoner by the Japanese navy.
By repute, on his return from captivity he was presented the above St George kortik by the Emperor Nicholas II.
