Louis Ouizille was born in 1731 and was apprenticed to Louis-Guillaume Cassé in 1752. On 23 July 1768 he attained the maitrise, sponsored by the distinguished gold box maker Jean-François Garand. From that date until 1786, he lived on the pont Notre-Dame but moved in the following year to the cul-de-sac Ste Marine and had retired by 1790. He died in Paris around 1821.
