Note du spécialiste

'Morandi looks through the appearance of things, or rather across the surface, to discover nuance, interval and inflection, those incidents of everyday experience that turn an ordinary event into an epiphany.' (Paul Coldwell, The Animation of Silence - The Etchings of Giorgio Morandi, in: Giorgio Morandi - The Collectors' Eye, Estorick Collection, London, 2001, p. 35)
