With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised hour markers in gold in 1954 and its subsequent sale on 26 February 1955.
The present vintage watch, of superb rarity, must be considered for many important collections as the long awaited "missing link".
Most noticeable, and to the delight of the future owner of the present example, are the strong case proportions and well defined stepped lugs which over time have been treated with respect and consequently hardly been exposed to careless polishing. The hallmarks underneath the lugs are crisp as one would expect.
This rare specimen offered here for sale is from the first version of which, according to our research, less than 35 examples are known to date.
A great model to wear - actual and modern, like over 50 years ago when first introduced.
