Of serpentine bombé form, the shaped rectangular top inset with a gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface, the frieze fronted by a central drawer with rocaille cast frame, flanked to each side by a deep drawer with music-making putti, the reverse with false drawers, the sides with putti supporting a tight-rope-walking monkey, the angles headed by espagnolette busts, on tapering legs and heavy acanthus-scrolled sabots, signed F. Linke to the front right corner, the lockplates stamped DUVIVIER PARIS 77 FB.ST ANTOINE
