Banded and crossbanded overall, the circular top above a plain frieze, on a hexagonal acanthus-carved support, flanked by winged griffins, on a tripartite base

Specialist note

Schloss Schmitte was first mentioned in 1412 as the property of Graf Philipp I von Nassau-Saarbrücken and experienced its blooming period in the 19th century under the reign of major general Adrian baron von der Hoop, when the company was modernised and the buildings renovated.
