A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE AND ENAMEL GOTHIC STYLE CHANDELIER
LATE 19TH CENTURY
The hexagonal dish hung by linked chains, inscribed by the maker 'E.D. Lasage, Orfevre, Paris' and inscribed 'Ex Dono Tourreil 1895'
37½ in. (96 cm.) overall diameter

Specialist note

A similar chandelier but signed A. CHERTIER/ORFEVRE/A PARIS made by Alexandre Chertier was sold Christies New York, 20th April 2005. It is probable therefore that Lasage was one of the designers or foremen at the Chertier workshop who specialised in ecclesiastical work in silver and bronze.
