Oval box, the panels on cover, sides and base engine-turned with coin- pattern and enamelled with translucent light blue, within reeded gold and opaque pink enamel borders, the cover inset with an oval enamelled medallion depicting the wedding of Roxana and Alexander the Great, within scrolling foliage and pellet border, both lid and base bordered with laurel and berry pattern, the side of the cover bordered with pink enamel scalloping and centred with a chased child's mask, the side pilasters chased with Trophies of Music on pink enamel ground, the opaque pink enamelled lower border of the side interspersed with chased foliate swags
