Specialist note
See Abraham L. den Blaauwen, Meissen Porcelain in the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam, 2000), pp. 34-35, no. 14 for a teabowl and saucer with similar decoration which he suggests was probably carried out by the goldsmith George Funcke, who worked for Meissen from 1713 to 1726. A related cup and saucer marked with a gilt F is illustrated by R. Rückert, Meissener Porzellan (Munich, 1966), no. 36. The form with acanthus leaves was probably designed by the Court Silversmith Johann Jacob Irminger.
