A GROUP OF INTAGLIO FOB AND DESK SEALS PERTAINING TO THE COOK WIDDRINGTON FAMILY
Comprising: a double matrix desk seal, with agate wasted handle and three colour gold mounts, the twin quartz matrix, one engraved with the crest of a sun burst and motto Biedaseben, the other seal is illegible due to damage (agate handle damaged); a gilt mounted desk seal with Catherine wheel paste multi-coloured intaglio matrices and purple glass handle; a group of fob seals including, two gold-cased blood stone one with armorial including wheat sheaf crest the other with wheat sheaf crest and initials I C; a gold cased agate seal engraved with armorial and motto, Traditus Non Victus, also with wheat sheaf crest; two gold cased cornelian seals one engraved with armorial the other with crest of a bull's head couped and motto Jove Sans Fin, and initials B.F.W., (for Bertram Fitzherbert Widdrington) three late 18th century gold mounted seals one of cornelian engraved with armorial, another engraved with a dove and olive branch and the motto La Paix; two gold seals each with foiled citrine plain matrices; two gold fobs without each without matrix stone; an un-mounted cornelian intaglio engraved with a ship's bow and figure head, and motto, Resistance; a late 18th century glazed watch key with enclosing woven hair; and a large oval glass intaglio depicting a battle scene (10)
