The cabinet offered here is virtually identical to another example in the Távora Sequeira Pinto Collection, Oporto thought to have been made in the Indian province of Gujarat in the 16th century (Lisbon, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Exotica - the Portuguese Discoveries and the Renaissance Kunstkammer, 17 Oct. 2001 - 6 Jan. 2002, pp. 142-3, no. 42.)
