With incurved crestrail terminating in lion masks, padded seat covered in yellow damask silk, on ring-turned baluster front supports, some mounts later

Specialist note

With its incurving crestrail and finely-carved grimacing lion's masks terminals, this fauteuil de bureau is reminiscent of the oeuvre of the Jacob dynasty and almost certainly based on designs by Charles Percier (1764-1838) and Pierre-Leonard Fontaine (1762-1853) in their Recueil de Decorations Interieures published in Paris in 1801.
