Plain rectangular with rounded corners and moulded reeded rim, the front engraved with the arms of the Earl of Galloway, fully marked around the side, the liner with maker's mark only and stamped along its base B. SMITH DUKE ST LINN INN FIELDS,

Specialist note

The arms are those of Stewart quartering Somerset for an Earl of Galloway.
Randolph Stewart, 9th Earl (1834 - 1873) married Lady Harriet Somerset, daughter of the 6th Duke of Beaufort.
