Specialist note

In 1971 Peter Frampton purchased what he called "One of those inspiring guitars." It was a Martin D-45 and sadly the guitar went the way of many, for the touring musician, when it was stolen while on tour in 1973. When approached by Martin to produce a signature model Frampton admits it was that lost "45" that first came to mind. Though the body inlay follows the lines of a Style 42, with the bound headstock and additional fingerboard inlay, the Peter Frampton Signature Edition circles back to Martin's Style 45. The top is of Adirondack spruce with forward scalloped bracing. They were introduced in 2006 with a limited edition of 76 instruments.
