Of large size, painted with ochre and managanese tulips with pale-green manganese-edged foliage within a blue and manganese concentric line border, several small cracks to rim, rim chipping at 2 and 8 o'clock, small glaze damage to centre

Specialist note

A strikingly similar example is illustrated in Frank Britton, English Delftware in the Bristol Collection, London, 1982, p. 56, no. 3.18. Interestingly three related dishes are known where the central flower is replaced with a dated medallion ranging in date between 1663 and 1675.
