Specialist note
The present watch is from the later series of reference 6152, fitted with an Angelus 8-day movement featuring subsidiary seconds to 9 o'clock.
Another particularly rare and unusual characteristic of this watch however is the double-signed dial, showing both the military designation "Marina Militare" as well as the "Luminor Panerai" signature, hinting at the newly developed luminous material.
To the best of our understanding, it is the first time that such double-signed 8-day reference 6152 is offered at auction.
For an illustration of such dial see The Panerai in Florence by Dino Zei, p. 65.
