PRINCESS MARY'S PORTRAIT PENDANT OF H.M. QUEEN ALEXANDRA A MINIATURE PORTRAIT PENDANT OF H.M. QUEEN ALEXANDRA (1844-1925)
The enamel on gold portrait depicting Queen Alexandra when Princess of Wales, bust-length, in a lilac dress and with feather trimmed hat, signed with initials 'JWB' (lower right) and set in a rose-cut diamond border and suspension loop mounted in silver and gold, contained within an ivory case with easel stand and twin hinged doors with rose-cut diamond ribbon bow thumb piece, the interior with gold inlay stating "To the/Princess/Mary/on her/marriage, From/the/People/of/Cheltenham"
The pendant -- 1 5/8 in. (4.2 cm.); The ivory case -- 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high

Presented to H.R.H. Princess Mary, The Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood (1897-1965) on the occasion of her marriage to Henry, 6th Earl of Harewood (1882-1947) by the people of Cheltenham, 28 February 1922. Acquired from the estate of H.R.H. Princess Mary, The Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood in 1966 by the Hon. Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Lascelles.
