Set on an hexagonal base, cast with a border of oak leaves, the field with foliate and hexafoil openwork; the bell with horizontal bands, and applied German crest and inscription, the cast finial with herms and foliage, apparently unmarked
6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) high

Kaiser Wilhelm (1859-1941), was Germany's last Kaiser, the son of Emperor Frederick III of Germany and king of Prussia & Victoria, the Princess Royal of England. He abdicated his throne on November 9, 1918.

Specialist note

There are two inscriptions found on this bell. Above the eagle: I am called the Kaiser's Bell/His honor I praise/On holy ground I stand. The inscription found on the other side above a representation of the Apostle Peter: For the German Empire I beseech/That God would grant peace and protection.
