The back story may involve a wristwatch that was made in the 1930s for Thami El Glaoui, the Pasha of Marrakesh, but the Cartier Pasha is a true icon for the French firm’s watch division. The design, attributed to the legendary Gerald Genta, has endured over the years and the present example is the rare special edition made for the Middle East.
The watch is instantly recognisable thanks to the presence of Eastern Arabic numerals on the attractive dark green sunray guilloché dial and a green cabochon crown. In keeping with the times, Cartier relaunched the Pasha in 2019 with a quick release bracelet system that enables owners to swap the steel bracelet for a green leather strap.
