The Patek Philippe reference 3945/1 was introduced as a variant to the celebrated reference 3940. The noticeable difference between the two was that it featured an integrated gold bracelet while the 3940 had lugs that accommodated a detachable leather strap.
Produced between 1985 and 1998, this timepiece finds a place amidst the most elegant perpetual calendar watches ever made by the brand. Reference 3945/1 has two distinct series distinguished by the subsidiary registers: the first series has 'sunken' registers, the second series has 'sunken' and beveled registers, such as seen in the present lot. Only a handful of these highly rare and widely undiscovered timepieces have returned to market, making the present lot a wonderful opportunity to acquire for the astute collector.
