Cochrane is almost universally regarded as the greatest hitting catcher in MLB history ending his career with a .320 mark. His presence as a key pillar in Connie Mack's 1920-30s era dynasty with the Philadelphia Athletics is noted with batting averages of .331, .357, and .349 from 1929-31.
