The original Centigraphe Souverain was first produced in aluminium for a short period of time between 2011 and 2014 and marked the launch of the 'LineSport' collection, which encompassed watches of an astounding lightness thought and conceived specifically for proficient sporting activities.
However, F.P. Journe found that the aluminium case experienced slight problems due to the softness of the material, thus compromising its sporting abilities and durability. The watch was therefore subsequently released in titanium due to its similar feather-lightness but without the danger of it bending under stress.
The present lot is a fantastically innovative and technically interesting watch which offers a trifecta of sportiness, elegance and mechanical brilliance; all presented in pristine condition.
