DAVID COX SEN., O.W.S. (BIRMINGHAM 1783-1859)

Cox produced hayfield scenes throughout his career, but particularly in the 1830s, revelling in the bustling activity which took place under broad clear skies on sunny days which allowed him plenty of scope to depict sun-dappled fields.
