signed 'g. de Chirico' (on the side of the base); numbered and stamped with the foundry mark '8/9 FONDERIA CAVALLARI ROMA' (on the back of the base)
bronze with golden brown patina
Height: 15 ¼ in. (38.7 cm.)
Conceived in 1974, and cast in bronze by Fonderia Cavallari, Rome, in a numbered edition of 9 plus 3 artist's proofs

Isa de Chirico, (the artist's wife), by descent from the artist.
A gift from the above to the father of the present owners.

Specialist note

A larger version of the same subject 'Musa dell'architettura' was realised by the Fonderia d'Arte Flaminia di Roma and cast in 1985 in an edition of nine examples plus three, numbered I/III to III/III, and one example marked HC.
