Le présent dessin est une étude préparatoire pour le bureau à cylindre acheté par le roi Georges IV en 1825 chez Jacob-Desmalter, pour orner sa chambre du château de Windsor où il se trouve toujours en place aujourd'hui (inv. RCIN III07 ; Roberts H., For the King's pleasure. The furnishing and decoration of George IV's apartments at Windsor Castle, Londres, 2001, p. 162, fig. 187).
