ANTIQUE NATURAL PEARL NECKLACE
Composed of 39 principal natural pearls measuring 8.2 - 6.6mm, and 22 further later added natural pearls, half pearl clasp, gold, circa 1850, 44.5 cm, fitted case with handwritten 19th century notes

According to inscribed label, given by HRH The Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester, daughter of George III (1776-1857), to her lady-in-waiting, Lady Georgina Bathurst (1792-1874) and by descent to her niece Selina Bathurst, by whom given to Evelyn Countess Bathurst on the occasion of her marriage in June 1874 and by descent.

One pearl from this necklace was donated to the Red Cross appeal, 1918.
