Tiara is a wider term used for headdress such as diadems, bandeaux and circlets, historically regarded as a symbol of status for aristocracy. Many tiaras created throughout the 18th century up until the present are designed as several detachable elements, so they could be worn as other jewels such as brooches and bracelets.
