CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, EPOQUE QIANLONG (1736-1795)
De forme rectangulaire, il est finement sculpté en léger relief de deux grues reposant sur des rochers près d'un grand pin tortueux dans un paysage idyllique. Le revers est incisé à l'or d'un poème de l'empereur Qianlong faisant l'éloge des pins.
Hauteur de l'écran: 17 cm. (6 ¾ in.)
Hauteur avec le socle en zitan : 24,2 cm. (9 ½ in.)

Specialist note

The stone, lapis lazuli, was considered a precious material throughout the Qing period. It was more often carved into accessories such as court necklaces, and more rarely the larger boulders were carved as scholar's objects such as mountain boulders and screens as decorative objects for the imperial palaces. The short poem composed by Emperor Qianlong describes the virtuous features of the pine tree.
