The present “Upside Down” model is distinguished by its unique meteorite dial, as confirmed by the International Guarantee. It is furthermore preserved in excellent overall condition.
It is one of Ludovic Ballouard’s exceedingly few timepieces fitted with a meteorite dial. To date only one other Upside Down model with such dial is known to exist, cased in platinum.
Meteorite dials are finished with an acid wash to enhance their natural pattern known scientifically as the "Widmanstätten" pattern, the lustrous silvery effect perfectly complementing the pink gold case.
The Widmanstätten pattern consists of lines that appear in some iron meteorites when a cross section of the meteorite is etched with weak acid. It is named after the Viennese scientist Alois von Widmanstätten who discovered it in 1808.
The movement is Ludovic Ballouard’s patented manual winding B01 calibre, all aspects along with the 12 maltese cross mechanisms are visible through the sapphire crystal display back. Ludovic’s idea is that the dial should bring a smile to your face while the movement will fascinate you, as you can see the whole complication set in motion.
