Tapering cylindrical, the hinged cover with scroll thumbiece, the handle applied with beading and later engraved with two crests below an earl's coronet, engraved underneath with initials 'N' over 'AR', marked near handle, on cover and handle, further engraved underneath with scratchweight '32:19'

The crests are those of Guinness and Lee for either Edward, 1st Earl of Iveagh (1847-1927) or his son Rupert, 2nd Earl of Iveagh (1874-1967).
