Specialist note

Created in the mid-1950s, the GMT-Master resulted from the success of previous sport Rolex wristwatches and the collaboration of the manufacture with the airline company Pan Am.

Worried about the effects of jet lag on pilots, the GMT-Master wristwatch was developed with a second hour hand enabling its wearer to keep track of a second time zone on a bi-colour bezel graduated for 24 hours, allowing to easily differentiate between nocturnal and diurnal time.

Throughout the years, the GMT master model has evolved into one of the most collectible Rolex wristwatches, attracting the likes of experienced and as well as young collectors.
