Specialist note

While Rolex are extremely well known for their accuracy and reliability, even the best of us are known to make mistakes from time to time. Case in point is this very rare “error dial” Explorer reference 114270 presented here, where the applied numeral at 3 on the dial is actually a 9, but has had the luminous print for the correct number, causing one to do a double take when taking a look for the first time. Given the rarity of these misprinted dials, they are highly coveted among a certain group of collectors looking for something very unusual and proof that even the most highly regarded of brands do have an off day every now and then.
