A PAIR OF REGENCY MAHOGANY HALL CHAIRS
CIRCA 1810
Each with a tapering rectangular back with recessed shield and later painted crest, above a solid seat with ivory silk and tufted loose cushion, on turned reeded legs and block feet, inscribed in chalk '220'
36 ¼ in. (97 cm.) high; 18 ½ in. (47 cm.) wide; 20 in. (51 cm.) deep

Specialist note

This crest, a lark with wings expanded holding in his beak an ear of wheat or (gold), is almost certainly that of the Clarke family of Northamptonshire.
