March Avery (b. 1932)

The present work was likely painted overlooking the pond at the Yorktown, New York, home of March Avery's friends, artist Wallace Putnam and his wife, photographer Consuela Kanaga. The figures are possibly Kanaga, at left, and the artist's husband, Philip Cavanaugh, at right.
