Offered together with a telegram and engraved invitations to the 1953 wedding of Jacqueline Lee Bouvier and John F. Kennedy.
Correspondence with Franz Bueb, a German-born artist who taught painting to Jacqueline Kennedy. Kennedy's letter reads in full: "Dear Franz: I have been receiving your cards- the trip sounds fine. There is a strong prospect I shall be coming over in August. Would you send me Elise Hansen's address if you have it. Did you see her. Any other information would be welcome. In addition - I no longer have her Salon number. Call me when you return -- as I should like to hear the news - I may see you. Best Jack[.]" Jacqueline Kennedy's letters primarily concern Bueb's artwork. A undated letter (but circa late 1959 - early 1960) offers a good sample of the tone: "I sent your pictures back today — Those 2 foolish women who have the gallery here came to see them — Unfortunately they only show the most violently modern paintings — all streaks & spots you can't tell what it is — I will keep you watercolor at the window & the black & white one - but I WONT let you make it a campaign contribution! You can make a much better contribution when the time comes -- a poster of Jack or start ARTISTS FOR KENNEDY movement..."
