[FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR] Carved powder horn (345 mm. in length), ornately carved with an elaborate depiction of New York City, including the town fort (with a large Union Jack flying above), six church steeples, a windmill (presumably near Corlear's Hook) and titled "NEW YORK FORT 1757". Above the landscape, the owner has added the Royal coat of arms as well as images of cannon, pikes, bayonets, and regimental flags. Significant age-toning and a crack running about half of the circumference affecting the fort and part of the cityscape.
