An exceptionally fine series of watercolors, each with a beautifully rendered accompanying text leaf headed in gilt-lettered manuscript and with textual descriptions in a fine hand within blue and gilt borders.
Broadsheets (365 x 292 mm). Hand-colored manuscript title, heightened with gold, 15 watercolors of plants, each with a facing page of text manuscript describing the various classes depicted. (A few occasional pale foxmarks.) Contemporary French green morocco, gilt-lettered "Botanique" on smooth spine, edges gilt (some scuffing).
