Lot 6 « Quand j’ai pris connaissance de cette vente anniversaire chez Christie’s, j’ai voulu participer, participer avec une sélection de ma collection de R. Bugatti, pour accompagner Rembrandt, comme je l’ai toujours fait, depuis près de 50 ans maintenant !
Pour qu’il reste présent et vivant, parce qu’il est plus vivant que jamais.
Avec Véronique (Fromanger) et mon regretté Alain (Lesieutre) nous l’avons fait découvrir. Nous en avons inspiré beaucoup d’autres. Et je veux que cela dure. Car le vrai génie « Bugatti » c’est bien Rembrandt, ce prénom donné par son oncle, en hommage au génie de la peinture, était prémonitoire. Voilà pourquoi je suis là. »
