The present Rolex model is one of the rare instances in which a manual movement is housed in an Oyster case. Oyster cases feature a screw down crown for maximum waterproofness and they usually accommodate an automatic movement in order to minimize the number of times the crown is opened. This timepiece however is an unusual exception to this rule, probably dictated by the will to offer more affordable waterproof watches.
