Specialist note
Invented in 1928, Atmos clocks have always been highly coveted by enthusiasts of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand. Aiming to achieve the concept of perpetual motion, the Atmos clock derives its energy from the expansion and contraction of a capsule encompassing a mixture of gas and liquid, sensitive to changes in barometric pressure. The capsule being connected to the mechanism of the clock, variations in temperature constantly power the movement without the need of manual winding. As an example, a change of one degree in the range between 15 and 30 degrees centigrade would result in powering the mechanism of the clock for approximately two days of operation.
Made entirely by hand, the Atmos du Millenaire Atlantis Clock encompasses a 1000 year calendar as well as a moonphase display. Now discontinued, the present clock is offered in “Like New” condition, and is further more accompanied with all its accessories.
