[LAWRENCE, T.E., contributor]. A Brief Record of the Advance of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force Under the Command of General Sir Edmund H.H. Allenby, G.C.B., G.C.M.G., July 1917 to October 1918. Cairo: Government Press and Survey of Egypt, 1919.

4° (293 x 225mm). Frontispiece portrait, 56 lithographic maps. Original linen-backed printed wrappers (slightly worn).

Harry Pirie-Gordon edited this volume, published by the official paper of the Egyptian Expeditionary force. It contains two unsigned reports written by T.E. Lawrence: "Sherifian Co-Operation in September" and "Story of the Arab Movement."

"This book is not always recognised as containing Lawrence's work, as the pieces are unsigned. The two pieces in question appear to have been extracted from official reports. These, along with the reports in the Arab Bulletin and in The Times, are his first published accounts of the Arab campaign" (O'Brien A011). RARE.
