Modelled with Cupid, standing blind-folded and choosing a scroll from a dish on an oval marble-topped table, his companion seated on a chair, another putto inscribing a book Pour la plus belle., on a scroll-moulded base, the footed stand with flower-sprays (seated putto with restoration to neck, recumbent putto with restoration to right foot, the stand broken and restuck at one end, minor chips)

Specialist note

A Meissen putto group of this type, with a different inscription, together with a stand was sold by Christie's Amsterdam on 30 October 2001, lot 322, and another was sold in these Rooms on 13 December 2001, lot 650.
