signed 'A. Rodin' (on the right side); inscribed with foundry mark 'ALEXIS. RUDIER. FONDEUR. PARIS' (on the back of the rock)
bronze with dark brown and green patina
Length: 16 ¾ in. (43 cm.)
Conceived circa 1890; this bronze version probably cast between 1905 and 1915

Acquired by the family of the present owner, circa 1995.
