General Wang Shuming (1905-1998) was trained at the Huang Pu Military School and Guangdong Aerospace Military Academy, afterwards he travelled to Russia for further aerospace training for six years. As the first 'Four Star' military general and commander-in-chief of China's Air Force, he was also a member and representative of the Military Allied Forces Committee. General Wang was gifted in the arts and was an accomplished calligrapher, as well as a collector of paintings and calligraphy.
