The rectangular padded back and padded arms, covered in closed-nailed floral cotton upholstery, removable padded seat, on reeded tapering legs and brass castors, stamped 'VR' beneath a crown, with brass plaque 'The Chair / used by the late / Duke of Wellington / at the Horse Guards / Novr 20th 1852', stencilled to interior rail FROM / HOLLAND AND SONS / Upholsterers & C.
