Specialist note

Born in Ostend in 1826, Musin was a highly prolific and successful artist. He was a Chevalier of the Order of Leopold, of Charles III and of the Liberator of Venezuela. His son, Auguste-Henri Musin (b.1852), was also an artist. His paintings are held in many public collections including Brussels, Ostend and Montreal.
